Recently I read an interesting post about flipping 5 blogs within 24 hours and sell for a total amount closes to $1000. With newly registered domain names, those blogs obviously don’t have any PR ranking or Alexa ranking. However there are some selling points: all use premium templates (looks awesome), all with at least 10 posts of unique contents, all with a product (eBook or report) attached, so the new owner can pretty much make money straight away.

You bet the guy won’t be able to do the entire job by himself. He actually hired some freelance writers for the posts and bought the premium templates from other sites, bought the attached products from PLR suppliers. At the time of writing, one of the blogs was already sold for $400 (he was expecting $200 each to make the $1000 target, so it is quite promising).

What do we learn from this story then? You don’t have to wait 30-90 days to build a blog or site to sell it, as long as you get everything right, you can sell it straight away and make some quick money. Everyone is a winner in this process, site builder, freelance writer (for the contents and eBook), graphic designer, coder (for the templates) and even the buyer of the new blog (he may put some effort in it and sell it after a few months for a much bigger amount). This is what I called blog economy. I’ll suggest my economist friend to do a project out of it.
